How do I become Yacht Crew with Yachtiecareers ?
- To start you select the Deckhand or Stewardess training package.
- Once you book with the first payment you get log in details with instant access to your online dashboard with flexible 24/7 access anywhere, anytime.
- We will add you to the online support group with the other crew for your training date in Croatia.
- We start on your online certification, modules and CV.
- You attend the training week in Split, Croatia with accommodation to get fully certified and we start the job search process.
What is included ?
Depending on your training package you will have :
- Lifetime access to your online dashboard with 18 Yacht courses.
- Personal Instructor and support throughout the training.
- STCW, PDSD (MCA), ENG1 and all internationally approved qualifications necessary to work on Yachts.

Can I get a refund ?
When you book using a payment plan, only the deposit is charged.
Your deposit unlocks immediate full access to our approved STCW & ISPS online training, instructors, CV preparation, and crew support and Accommodation— this is why the deposit is non-refundable.
The remaining balance is not charged until your training week and will never be taken if you don’t attend.
Your booking is fully flexible — you can change your training date free of charge to any future date, with no additional payments required until you attend.
Once training and full STCW and Yacht training has started or been completed, no refunds are possible.
Where is the training ?
- The start of the training is through your online dashboard.
- You have lifetime access and can complete the courses before, during or after the in-person training week.
- The STCW week is in Croatia, Split. One of the Yachting hubs of the Mediterranean.

Is Accommodation included ?
- We have on-site Crew Accommodation that you share with the other crew.
- It is included for 7 nights during your training when booking Premium Package.
- You can book accommodation separetely here.
Where is the training week ?
- The in-person training week is in Split, Croatia. We have the crew accommodation on-site.
- We recommend booking accommodation 7 nights to start with and keep it flexible. Often crew decide to share an Airbnb/move closer to the beaches after the first 7 days of STCW-training.
- When booking you will get a day by day schedule specifically for your week.
Are the courses MCA Accepted in English ?
All STCW and ISPS Courses are internationally accepted as per STCW standards and MCA-Accepted.
All training courses are in English only and the our crew and students are a very international mix.

Yacht Jobs
Will YachtieCareers help me get a yacht job ?
- We give you tools to succeed in the yacht job search, with CV-writing, Yacht Reference letter and job support with dayworking and dockwalking seminars. Yachtiecareers also work offers free recruitment services in order to give employers an incentive to pick junior crew.
- We can not guarantee finding a yacht crew job immediately. The average time to find a job is at least 6 weeks although many crew find jobs faster. As we are not the employer we can not guarantee a job. The Captain or Yacht Manager/Employer has the final decision to employ you on board.
Do I need a visa for Yacht Crew ?
- There is no visa requirement specifically to work on Yachts.
- To work in US/Caribbean Yachts require a B1/B2 visa which we can help with.
- Depending on your passport/nationality, we give you personal support and assist for your job role.
Can I work with tattoos/ minimum age ?
- In 2025 most yachts will accept crew with Tattoos. Several in the Yachtiecareers team have tattoos and so do succesful past students. For certain positions a Yacht will have a specific no-tattoo requirement.
- The minimum age to apply is 16 years old. And we have many crew that are 35-40+ years old.
How much is a Yacht Crew salary ?
- An average Yacht Crew Salary is 5000€ depending on yacht size and position.
- Working on board a Yacht as a Deckhand the average Deckhand salary is 2300€-3300€. With experience and qualifications you can progress to Bosun, Officer and Captain on board.
- With qualifications for a Junior Yacht Stewardess, the salary starts from 2300-3300€ and with experience and training it is possible to progress to a Chief Stewardess role.
- Most yachts also have bonuses or very lucrative tips from charters.
Can I work as both a Deckhand and Stewardess ?
- With Yachtiecareers you can get both Deckhand and Stewardess Training included for the price of one.
- This option is included in all Premium Stewardess and Deckhand packages.
- It is popular for crew that can not decide or want to have the option to do both and work in a combined Deck/Stew role on smaller Yachts.
