By accessing our website, creating an account, enrolling in any programme, or purchasing any service, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be legally bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Services.
Nature of Services
YachtieCareers provides a structured yacht crew training and career preparation programme. The programme includes a combination of services delivered directly by YachtieCareers and regulated training components that must, by law, be delivered and/or certified by licensed third-party providers.
YachtieCareers directly delivers and manages substantial elements of the programme, including but not limited to overall training-week coordination, student support, job search seminars, career workshops, CV writing services (where included), CV photo coordination, dock-walking guidance, Q&A sessions, and onboard training days for Stewardess and/or Deckhand roles on yachts selected by YachtieCareers. YachtieCareers also coordinates medical appointments for ENG1 or ENG1-equivalent medical certification with approved doctors where such services are included in the purchased package.
Certain maritime training components are subject to statutory and regulatory requirements and must be delivered, assessed, or certified by licensed third-party providers. These may include specific STCW practical elements such as firefighting training delivered at licensed facilities, sea survival training, national ministry endorsement processes, and RYA Powerboat Level 2 certification. Where such regulated components are included, YachtieCareers coordinates scheduling and integration into the overall programme but does not control certification decisions, assessment outcomes, or government processing timelines.
Eligibility
You may use the Services only if you are at least sixteen (16) years of age, have the legal capacity to enter into binding agreements, and are not prohibited from using the Services under applicable law.
User Responsibilities
You acknowledge that participation in yacht crew training and employment preparation carries inherent responsibilities. You are solely responsible for arranging and paying for travel, visas, insurance, and personal expenses unless explicitly stated otherwise in writing. You must hold valid identification and travel documents and ensure compliance with immigration, medical, and employment requirements.
You are responsible for reading all communications sent by YachtieCareers, including emails, joining instructions, payment notices, and training updates. Definitions
For the purpose of these Terms: “YCA Services” means services delivered directly by YachtieCareers, including coordination, support, career training, seminars, CV services (where included), onboard training days (where included), and access to YachtieCareers’ online training portal(s). “Regulated Training” means training that must be delivered, assessed, or certified by an approved/licensed third party under applicable maritime standards (including certain STCW components and RYA courses). “Training Week” means the scheduled in-person training week dates confirmed in writing (email/receipt/joining instructions), including any regulated components scheduled during that period.
Payments, Deposits and Booking Structure
Some programmes are offered with a non-refundable deposit of seven hundred and forty euros (€740), which may be subject to promotional discounts. The deposit is charged by credit card at the time of booking.
The deposit secures your training place, grants immediate access to online training portals and materials, and enables YachtieCareers to reserve accommodation, training slots, medical appointments, certification processes, and third-party services on your behalf. Due to immediate administrative, coordination, training access, accommodation reservation, and third-party costs incurred upon booking, the deposit is non-refundable except as expressly stated below.
The remaining balance of the programme fee is not charged at the time of booking. It is fully flexible and becomes due no later than seven (7) days before the scheduled start of the Training Week. Payment of the balance must be made by bank transfer to the nominated account provided in your receipt and joining instructions. Automatic reminders are issued fourteen (14) days and seven (7) days prior to the Training Week.
Failure to pay the balance by the deadline will result in your inability to attend the Training Week. In such circumstances, the deposit will be forfeited and access to services may be suspended until payment is completed.
Flexible Booking – Change of Training Date
You may change your Training Week date at any time by notifying YachtieCareers in writing. Changes of date are permitted free of charge. Your deposit remains valid and will be carried forward to the rescheduled date. The remaining balance will only become due seven (7) days prior to the newly selected Training Week.
Start of Training and No-Refund Point
Once the Training Week has commenced, no payments of any kind, whether deposit or balance, are refundable. This applies regardless of attendance, completion, illness, travel issues, personal circumstances, or withdrawal.
If a cancellation occurs before the Training Week has commenced, YachtieCareers may, at its discretion, allow the booking to be transferred to a future training date at no additional charge. No transfers are guaranteed once the Training Week has started.
100% Fully refund during 24-Hour Cooling-Off Period
You may cancel your booking within twenty-four (24) hours of purchase and receive a full refund, provided that no training has commenced and no third-party services have been delivered. After this period, the deposit becomes fully non-refundable.
Refund Policy
Except for the 24-hour cooling-off period, all payments made to YachtieCareers are non-refundable to the maximum extent permitted by law. This includes deposits, full payments, instalments, discounted purchases, and promotional offers. Once access to training portals or third-party services has been granted, no refunds will be issued.
Any refund request relating solely to regulated or third-party training must be addressed directly with the relevant provider in accordance with their terms.
Third-Party Providers and Regulated Training
YachtieCareers delivers substantial parts of the programme through our own staff and operations, including coordination, support, and career-preparation services. However, certain components are legally required to be delivered and/or certified by licensed third parties (“Third-Party Authorities”). Examples may include (non-exhaustive): RYA Powerboat Level 2 (certified by the relevant RYA-authorised centre/instructor). YachtieCareers will, where reasonable, assist with coordination and communication, but YachtieCareers does not control certification decisions or government processing timelines.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, YachtieCareers shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, including loss of income, loss of employment opportunity, travel costs, accommodation costs, visa expenses, or personal expenses.
YachtieCareers remains responsible for the delivery of YCA Services under its control. Third-party providers remain responsible for Regulated Training delivered under their authority. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where such exclusion or limitation is prohibited by law.
