STCW Security Awareness for Yacht Crew 2024

Greeting aspiring seafarers! Let’s embark on a journey to explore the fascinating world of STCW training. In this blog, we will learn about the STCW security awareness course for yacht crew, including the course outcomes, importance, and duration.

What Is STCW Security Awareness A-6/6-1 Or PSA?

The ISPS Code has a minimum security certification requirement for anyone who works on or frequently visits a vessel. All seafarers, be they sailors or captains, who want to sail for professional reasons, should have undergone either STCW Security Awareness or Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) training. The former is a basic course that provides an overview of security awareness, while the latter is a more comprehensive course that includes practical exercises and assessments. Both of these safety trainings are integrated into the STCW Basic Safety Training (BST) courses.
